"Huey Lucian Horn, 82, of Edmond WV (formerly of Pineville WV) died peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 22, 2018, surrounded by his family. Born December 10, 1935 at Paynesville WV in McDowell County, Huey was the oldest son and second child of Luther and Maggie Wagner Horn. He graduated from Iaeger High School and attended Concord College. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Greenland. He married Dorothy JoAnn Bishop of Iaeger WV, who survives him, on February 10, 1962. Huey was employed by Norfolk-Western/Norfolk Southern until his retirement. His most favorite pastime was finding and repairing broken or discarded bicycles and then giving them away to children in the community. He was never happier than when he was in his little shop tinkering. Huey was a kind, generous and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and neighbor. Active in the lives of his family, he was a much loved and respected member of his community. After his retirement, he became an avid gardener and received much enjoyment from sharing with his neighbors and family. He is survived by his wife, “Dottie;” two sons, John of Edmond WV and Zeb of Beckley WV; one daughter, Peni Adams (Chris) of Pineville WV; and four grandchildren, Branden Adams, Dylan Adams, Hailey Horn and Zachary Horn. He also leaves behind one sister, June Horn Brown of Bluefield VA, one brother, Roger Horn of Paynesville WV, one brother-in-law, Bill Bishop, two sisters-in-law, Emma Lou Butler of Bluefield VA and Dolly Hume of Roanoke VA, and numerous nephews and nieces who held him in very high esteem. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, father and mother-in-law, three brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law. "Dorothy Joann "Dottie" Bishop Horn left this earth peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Edmond, WV, where she resided with her son for 9 years. Dottie fought a courageous battle against a debilitating illness of many years. She was born January 15, 1936, in McDowell Co WV to Franklin Dot and Euna Farley Bishop and was the seventh of ten children born to that loving family."Dottie graduated from Iaeger High School in 1953, along with her future husband, Huey Horn, whom she married in 1962. They celebrated fifty-six years together before Huey died in 2018. Dottie joined her older sister, Wilma, as a telephone operator at Welch WV upon graduation from high school and worked there until she married Huey in 1962. They were the proud parents of three children who gifted them with five grandchildren and three great grandchildren and many years of joy and happiness. She and Huey were totally involved in the lives of their children and supported them wholeheartedly in all their activities.
"Dottie spent more than 20 years serving with the Girl Scouts of America. She lived the Girl Scout slogan of “Do a good turn daily”. She was an avid reader and loved her trips to her local library. She was an excellent cook and a beloved in-law and a friend to many.
"Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and her husband, were three brothers, Marion, Vestal "Beck", Franklin D. Jr, four sisters: Juanita Umbarger, Emma Lou Butler, Dolly Hume and Wilma Pascone,

Dottie is also survived by her baby brother, William “Bill” Bishop of Beckley WV and June Brown of Bluefield VA, a sister-in-law, who was also her beloved friend. She is survived by Alpha Cook of Rock View WV, a very special friend of 60 years.
