JESSE — Wilma Lee Cook Bragg, 81, of Jesse, passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division, following a short illness. Born Dec. 11, 1924, at Jesse, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ruby Sanders Cook. Mrs. Bragg was a lifelong member of Guyandotte Baptist Church, attended Oceana High School, and was manager of Wall’s Department Store in Pineville for 11 years. She had many fond memories of working in a factory during World War II in Danville, Va., making uniform fabric for the war effort. She enjoyed reading and being with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Bragg; brother, Willis C. Cook; and sisters, Betty Ruth Cordle and Joann Lubonia. Survivors include two sons, Dale “Butch” Bragg and his wife, Cathie, of Point Pleasant and Gregory “Smokey” Bragg of Radford, Va.; a daughter, Sue Hutchinson and her husband, Mikel, of Jesse; grandsons, Mikel Hutchinson Jr. of Jesse and Robert Dale Bragg and his wife, Staci, of Huntington; granddaughter, Sara Beth Wray and her husband, Kenny, of Kopperston; great-grandson, Isaiah Wray of Kopperston; and several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Service will be noon Monday at Guyandotte Baptist Church, Jesse, with the Rev. Stacy Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Cook Family Cemetery, Jesse.
