He really enjoyed working on anything mechanical; he had a gift for fixing things."A lifelong resident of Glen Rogers, he was born May 23, 1940, to the late John H. Blankenship (1909-Deceased) and Inez Elswick-Blankenship (1917-1982). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Lafferty-Blankenship (1946-1993) whom he married on May 11, 1963 in Glen Fork, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1963, Page 110, Application Date: May 11, 1963); an infant daughter, Becky Sue Blankenship (1962-1964); brothers, Lee Blankenship (Deceased) and Jerry Blankenship (Deceased); and sisters, Norma Blankenship-Sinecoff (Deceased) and Josephine Blankenship-Lafferty (Deceased).
