"Vadis Vaudaline Miller, 89, of Gainsville, VA, formerly of Brenton, WV passed over into her eternal resting
on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at her home following a long illness. She was born on October 31, 1925 in
Pineville, WV a daughter of Warren and Ethal Shannon Cook. In addition to her parents she is preceded in
death by her husband Warren Miller; a daughter Tamorah Miller; a son Donald Miller; three brothers Willie
Cook, Jack Cook and Warren Cook, Jr.; and a granddaughter Regina Ennis. Those left to cherish her
memory are her three daughters Carolyn (Howard) Johnson of Front Royal, VA, Rita Miller and Debra Hess
both of Gainesville, VA; a daughter-in-law Brenda Miller; a sister Lona Lou Finley of Huntington; eight
grandchildren Tamisha and Shawn Hess, Brittany Lawson, Savannah Thomas, Chris Hall, Greg and Marty
Garrett and Connie Ennis; seven great grandchildren Ellie Lawson, Christopher and Carleigh Hall, Trinity
Hess, Kaitlyn and Gregory Garrett II, and Brenda Ennis; three great great grandchildren Isaiah, Jeramiah
and Gregory Garrett III; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00
PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Brenton Baptist Church, Brenton, WV, with Pastor Tommy Knotts

"RICHMOND, Va. - Kathleen Bailey Goode, 83, formerly of Mullens and Pineville, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at her residence following a long illness. "Born Oct. 24, 1918, at Baileysville, she was the daughter of the late William Calhoun "Cal" and Catherine Adelia "Kate" Lacy Bailey.
"Mrs. Goode was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County until moving to Richmond. She was a member of the Pineville Methodist Church before moving to Mullens. As a resident of Mullens, she joined the United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Goode was an active member of the women's circles of both churches. "She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Goode Sr.; a son, Paul R. "Butch" Goode Jr.; seven sisters, Allie Basham, Bess Brooks, Georgia Bailey, Garnet Lee Morgan, Helen Houck, Bernice Marvin and Betty Jo D'Antoni; and two brothers, Bill Bailey and Theodore Bailey. "Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Goode Mardigian and her husband, John A. Mardigian Sr. of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren, Lynne M. Bland and her husband, James, Paula G. Fannin and her husband, John, John A. Mardigian Jr. and his wife, Chris, Paul R. "Robbie" Goode and his wife, Lisa, and Kate M.
