"DAVY - Thomas Cleveland 'Tommy' Hale, 70, of Davy, departed this world suddenly on Oct. 23, 2003 to be with his Heavenly Father and to join his loved ones who have already passed through the veil.
"Born Sept. 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Thomas 'Cleve' and Sallie Anderson Hale.
"Tommy worked for 21 years at Farmbest Dairies of Welch. He spent 16 1/2 years working as a motor operator at U.S. Steel No. 50 Pinnacle Coal Mine in Pineville until he became disabled from a mine accident. He was a member of UMWA Local 1713 Union in Pineville, he served on the Davy Town Council. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Welch.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Dorothy Glass Hale; five sisters, Carrie Burns, Elsie Cantu, Beaulah Muncy, June Baldwin and Ruby Stroupe; three brothers, Clarence, Lawrence and Elbert Hale.
"He is survived by two daughters and one son, Pamela McPeak and husband James of Athens, Connie Sarks and husband Darren of Princeton and Wesley Hale of Davy; brother, Eldridge Hale of Welch; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren in whom he took great pleasure and pride, Sherri Hanks, Priscilla Byrd, Christopher Winkler, Brittany Winkler, Jessica Sarks, Wesley Hale Jr., Alicia Hale and Nikki Hale; two great-grandchildren, Kameron and Benjamin Underwood.
"Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Monday at Fanning Funeral Home, Welch, with Elder Edward Laxton officiating. Burial will follow in the New Community Cemetery, Asco. ..."

Surviving are his wife, Edna; a son, David (Mary) Stacy of Loudonville; t wo daughters, Teresa (Leo) Mickley of Danville and Oma Gail (David) Beh ney of Mansfield; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sist er, Melda (Herman) Addair of Virginia.
