"PINEVILLE — Ama M. Bowden Combs, 92, of Pineville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, in Wyoming Continuous Care Center, New Richmond. "Born Feb. 2, 1913, at Jesse, she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Letha Cook Bowden. "Mrs. Combs was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County and a member of Cook Memorial Baptist Church, Pineville. She enjoyed her family, church and bird watching. She was always happy and her laughter was contagious. "In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ocel, Virgil, Basil and her twin brother Creel; a half sister, Delores; and three grandchildren. "Survivors include two sons, Teddy Combs Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Rupert and James Combs and his wife, Phyllis, of Ravencliff; two daughters, Mary Church of Oceana and Mildred Caldwell and her husband, John, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a brother, Tracy Bowden of Cleveland, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her ex-husband, Teddy Combs Sr. of Oceana. "Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Cook Memorial Baptist Church, Pineville, with the Revs. Clay Phillips and Glen Kuhn officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley..."
