"OCEANA — Hubert Belcher, 76, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at his residence following a long illness. "Born Ap-ril 7, 1929, at Accoville, he was the son of the late Charlie and Ar-tha Belcher. "Mr. Bel-cher attended the Church of God in the name of Christ Jesus in Brenton. He enjoyed raising a garden and seeing how big he could make his tomatoes grow and loved walking and being outdoors. "In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special companion, Ruby Lively; and a brother, Hobert Belcher. "Survivors include two stepsons, Roger Lively and his wife, Brenda, of Surveyor and Lee Lively and his wife, Mary, of New Richmond; two stepdaughters, Suzanna Thompson and her husband, Mike, of Ramey Addition and Velma Rife of New Richmond; a brother, Billy Belcher of North Carolina; three sisters, Ocie Belcher and Ines Harvey, both of Cedar Creek, and Gracie Carter of Laurel Branch; and special friends, Elizabeth Lively of Rainelle and John Rife of Avondale. "Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Evans Memorial Cha-pel, Oceana, with the Rev. Irvin Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny..."
