"CASTLEWOOD, Va. - Vester Washington Vance, 71, of Castlewood, was dead on arrival at Russell
County Medical Center in Lebanon, Va. late Thursday evening, Nov. 3, 2005. "Mr. Vance was born Nov. 22, 1933 in Jolo, a son of Myrtle Hagerman Vance of Jolo and the late
George Vance. He retired from Ford Motor Company's Dearborn Engine Plant in Michigan. Mr.
Vance was of the Baptist faith, and for the past 13 years he was a farmer. "He was preceded in death by his father, George Vance; his first wife of 36 years, Rosie M. Akers
Vance; two sons, Joseph Michael and Howard “Dave” Vance; two brothers, Hershel and Albert
Vance; daughter-in-law, Debbie Vance; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Travis Vance. "Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Betty Beavers Vance of the home; his mother, Myrtle
Hagerman Vance of Jolo; four sons, Roger Vance and wife Cathy of Taylor, Mich., Jeffrey Vance
