Mullins. "She was a member of the Maybeury Church of God, was a homemaker, a resident of Maybeury
most of her life, and had resided in Bluewell for the past eight years. "Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Jess
Holloway on June 14, 1994; three daughters, Frances Lovelady, Mary M. Snow, and Clara Lacally;
also four sisters, Mary Conklin, Georgia Dickerson, Minnie Belle Phillips, and Edith Bryant; one
brother, Elmer Mullins. "Survivors include one son, Jesse Holloway Jr., of Akron, Ohio; one sister, Nancy Rivera of
Cleveland, Ohio; four brothers, James W. Mullins and wife, Norma of Falls Mills, Va., Joe Mullins
of North Wilksboro, N.C., Lee Mullins and wife, Linda of Southington, Ohio, Mastin "Jr." Mullins
and wife, Judy of Malta, Ohio; a special granddaughter, Lori Snow and companion David Cline of
Bluewell, with whom she made her home. Several additional grandchildren, several great-

brief illness. "Born Feb. 23, 1923, at McGraws, she was the daughter of the late Leland Stanford and Lona Belle
Perry Bane. "Her husband, James Remuel O’Neal, preceded her in death. "Ella grew up in Oceana and graduated from Oceana High School. She was a registered nurse,
having received her degree from Laird Memorial Hospital in Montgomery. "She was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served as a first lieutenant. She was stationed in
the Philippines, Hawaii and stateside. "Mrs. O’Neal was a homemaker and farmer for most of her life. "She sponsored and was the leader for two 4-H clubs in the Salem-Gatewood areas. She was the
leader of the BYF at Oak Hill Baptist Church and she along with her husband, James, were the
leaders of the Fayette County BYF Association. "Ella served as a nurse at the West Virginia Baptist Camp in Cowen and was a resident director at a
dormitory at Alderson-Broaddus College. "She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill and the Collins High School Band
Boosters. "Ella enjoyed sewing, quilting, her pets, life on her farm and visits from her friends and family.
"Survivors include a son, Leland D. O’Neal and wife, Laura, of Fayetteville; a brother, Russell Bane
and wife, Magdalene, of Louisa, Va.; a sister, Helen Hall of Taylors, S.C.; a grandson, Jim O’Neal
of Fayetteville; and two nieces and a nephew. "Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Robert Pauley
officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley..."
