"MARLINTON - Ruth E. Hatfield, 85, of Marlinton, formerly of Freeman and Upland, went to be with the Lord early Friday
morning, March 18, 2005, at the Pocahontas Memorial Hospital, Buckeye, after a short illness. "Born April 10, 1919 in Keystone, she was the daughter of the late Paris and Ida White Belcher. She was affiliated with
the Church of God Faith, she was a homemaker, she resided in McDowell County for 63 years, moving to Freeman in
1982 where she resided for 18 years, and had been a resident of Marlinton for the past five years. She was the last
surviving member of her immediate family. "Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wheeler Hatfield in 1984; one granddaughter, Joi
Lynn Henderson; five sisters, Lola Nutter, Maude Flippin, Ethel Scott, Wanda Allen and Clyde Buckland; and three
brothers, Harold Belcher, Lawrence Belcher and Edward Belcher. "Survivors include: one daughter, Imogene Lambert of Orange Park, Fla.; two sons, Denver Hatfield and wife Judie of
Marlinton and James Hatfield and wife Linda of Bluewell; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. "Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, March 21, 2005 at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Northfork,
with the Rev. Olen Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton...."
