"MAXIE, Va. — Clayton Stiltner, Sr., 86 years of age of Maxie, Va., passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Buchanan General Hospital, Grundy, Va., following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Roland and Delphia Belcher Stiltner. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Harman Freewill Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a retired coal miner having worked for Harman Mining Company. Mr. Stiltner was a member of the UMWA Local Union No. 7025 where he served as officer for over twenty years and was a member of the Grundy Lodge IOOF #17. Mr. Stiltner is survived by his wife, Irene Cassell Stiltner, Maxie, Va.; two daughters, Frieda Ruble, Maxie, Va., Shelia (Shine) and husband Harry Blankenship, Pounding Mill, Va.; three sons, Clayton Jr. (C.J.) and wife Sandra Stiltner, Maxie, Va., Ronnie Lee and wife Stella Stiltner, Maxie, Va., Mickey Joe Stitlner and fianc?, Rhonda Brady, Maxie, Va.; two sisters, Goldie Young, Omaha City, Neb., Marie and husband Bill McBroom, Michigan; one brother, Hassell Stiltner, Maxie, Va. He is also survived by three special friends, Tommy and Geraldine Mullins, and Pyllis Peck; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
