"Perry H. Roberts, 80, of Iaeger, died Saturday at a Bluefield hospital. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iaeger and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Sandy River District American Legion Post 175 at Bradshaw. He was a salesman, merchant, owner and operator of the Travelrama at Iaeger bus station for several years. He had served six years on the Iaeger City Council and had served fourteen years as the mayor of Iaeger."Born at Paynesville, he was a son of the late John Floyd Roberts (1878-1956) and Mary "Alice" Rowe-Roberts-Johnson (1886-1966) (per WV Delayed Certificate of Birth #4777, McDowell County, WV, Date of Issue: March 17, 1944). He was preceded in death by a son, Jack "Jackie" Holroyd Roberts (1934-1934); three brothers, Brooks McKinley Roberts (1903-1965), Clarence Messinger Roberts (1906-1970), and Swisher "Sprinkle" Roberts (1908-Deceased); and a great grandson, William Paul Sebastian (Deceased).
